Latitude
On this page
Degrees north of the equator, from -90 to 90: 51.5072.
Use it where you hold a latitude apart from its longitude, such as in a search query's parameters. When you have both, use Point.
Shape
One Decimal from -90 to 90.
Example
Latitude(51.5072)A value outside its limits breaks min or max.
text.parse(raw, as: Latitude) reads one from text that comes from outside. Text that isn't one at all fails malformed, such as 51.5072 N, N51.5072 or 51,5072.
Good to know
- South is negative.
text.formatshows the letter:33.8688° S. - In JSON it is a string, so no decimal places are lost on the way.
==tells you whether two are the same, and<andlist.sort_bycompare and sort them.
In JSON
A string, in a request, a response or json.write:
"-90""-33.8688""0"
