Uprn
On this page
A Unique Property Reference Number, the identifier for a property in Great Britain.
Use it to refer to a building or plot in data from Ordnance Survey or local government. To write to someone, use PostalAddress.
Shape
One value, held as text in one set form, with no parts: 100023336956.
Example
Uprn("100023336956")Uprn(raw) checks the text, and text that isn't one breaks the format rule.
text.parse(raw, as: Uprn) reads one from text that comes from outside. Text that isn't one at all fails malformed, such as 0, 0100023336956 or 1000233369561.
Good to know
- It is text, not a number, even though it holds only digits. It has up to 12 digits and can't start with a zero.
==tells you whether two are the same.<andlist.sort_bydon't take it.- A field that holds one counts as personal data (
contact), so you don't mark it yourself.
In JSON
A string, in a request, a response or json.write:
"1""100023336956"
