CefrLevel

On this page

A language ability level, from A1 to C2.

Use it for language courses and job adverts. For the language itself, use Language.

Shape

One of these 6 values:

Value Written
CefrLevel.a1 A1
CefrLevel.a2 A2
CefrLevel.b1 B1
CefrLevel.b2 B2
CefrLevel.c1 C1
CefrLevel.c2 C2

Example

example
CefrLevel.b2

text.parse(raw, as: CefrLevel) reads one from text that comes from outside. Text that isn't one at all fails malformed, such as C3, B or native.

Good to know

  • == tells you whether two are the same. < and list.sort_by don't take it.

In JSON

A string, in a request, a response or json.write:

json
"A1""B2""C2"

Details

Text form, storage, how it is shown, and operations

CefrLevel is in the group Other with a published standard, and has been in Jadpo since 0.1.0.

Text form

text.from writes one standard text form, the same form text.parse reads back: A1, B2 and C2.

How it is stored

It is stored in one column named for the field, of type text. B2 is stored as 'B2'.

How it is shown to people

text.format(value, locale:) shows it to people in their locale.

With locale: Locale.en_gb:

Value Shown
A1 A1
B2 B2
C2 C2

Operations

It also takes text.parse, text.from, text.format, json.read, json.write and ==. How every standard type behaves says how they work.
